Privacy Policy
Introduction and Overview
We have written this privacy policy to explain to you, in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and applicable national laws, which personal data we as the controller – and the processors commissioned by us (e.g. providers) – process, will process in the future, and what lawful options you have.
Scope
This privacy policy applies to all personal data processed by us in the company and to all personal data that companies commissioned by us (processors) process.
Legal Bases
We only process your data if at least one of the following conditions applies:
- Consent (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO)
- Contract (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO)
- Legal Obligation (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. c DSGVO)
- Legitimate Interests (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO)

Rights under GDPR
According to Article 13 GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Right to data portability (Art. 19 GDPR)
- Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
Security of Data Processing
To protect personal data, we have implemented both technical and organizational measures. Where possible, we encrypt or pseudonymize personal data.
TLS Encryption with HTTPS
We use HTTPS to transmit data securely on the Internet. The complete transfer of all data from your browser to our web server is secured.
Training tips by email
If you tick the separate box “Also send me John's training tips” on our forms, we store your email address, your language choice, the page on which you consented, and the date and IP address of that consent. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); storing source, time and IP serves solely to demonstrate that consent (Art. 7(1) GDPR).
We use the double opt-in procedure: after ticking the box you receive a confirmation email. Only your click on the link it contains signs you up. Without that click we send nothing and delete the unconfirmed entry.
Every one of these emails contains an unsubscribe link. One click is enough; you will then receive no further tips. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future — via the unsubscribe link or informally to info@berlinjohn.de. After withdrawal your address is kept only on a suppression list so that you are not contacted again by mistake. Delivery is handled by our processor Resend (Resend, Inc., USA).
This consent is separate from receiving a requested training plan or reflection: you receive those without ticking the box.
Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich GmbH, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. When you visit, data your browser transmits is automatically stored in server log files: IP address, date and time, page requested, amount of data transferred, referring page, browser and operating system. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and trouble-free operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement is in place with the provider.
Fonts
The fonts used (Inter, Cinzel) are stored on and served from our own server. No connection to Google Fonts is established and no IP address is transmitted to Google.
Google Analytics, Tag Manager and Google Ads
Only if you agree in the cookie banner do we load Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-2XJLR1CGF1) and two Google Ads tags (AW-1391745827, AW-1030674244). The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Without your consent none of these scripts is loaded; if you decline, the request does not happen at all.
After your consent, cookies are set and usage data is processed: shortened IP address, a randomly assigned identifier for your browser, pages visited, time spent, approximate location, device, browser and screen resolution. The purpose is reach measurement and measuring the success of our ads. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Sec. 25(1) TDDDG). Transfer to the USA is possible; Google relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by deleting this site's data in your browser — you will then be asked again on your next visit.
YouTube videos
On several pages we embed videos via youtube-nocookie.com (Google Ireland Limited, address as above). No video loads by itself: you first see only a notice with a “Load video” button. Only when you click it is the video loaded from Google, and your IP address and details about your browser and device are transmitted to Google. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Your approval then applies to all videos on this website so that you do not have to click again on every page; you withdraw it by deleting this site's data in your browser. This approval is separate from the cookie banner — agreeing there does not release any videos. Google's privacy policy applies.
Instagram feed
The Instagram feed on the home page is loaded by the service Behold (Behold.so) and shows content from Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.). It only loads once you explicitly request it or have agreed to the cookie banner — until then only a notice is shown. When it loads, your IP address and browser data are transmitted to Behold and Meta, including to the USA. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). The link to our Instagram profile works independently of this.
Forms, callback requests and email delivery
When you submit a form on this website — for example an enquiry, a callback request or a request for a training plan — we process the data you enter in order to handle your request. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures or our legitimate interest in answering your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
This data is stored at our processor Supabase (Supabase, Inc., USA; this project's database is located in the EU, Ireland region); the corresponding emails are sent via our processor Resend (Resend, Inc., USA). Data processing agreements are in place with both.
AI-assisted training plans and chat
In some places you can have a training plan generated or type a question into a chat field (for example in the Hero's Journey companion). To do this, your input is transmitted via our server to Anthropic PBC, 548 Market St, San Francisco, USA, and processed there to generate the response. Please do not enter special categories of personal data or health data into these fields that you do not wish to transmit. The legal basis is your consent through use of this feature (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). This involves a transfer of data to the USA.
Payment
For paid offers we redirect you to a Stripe payment page (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Dublin, Ireland). You enter your payment details there directly with Stripe; we neither see nor store them. Stripe's privacy policy applies there. The legal basis is performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
