Behind the Scenes: Stunt Shoot for TV
A look behind the scenes of a recent TV stunt shoot – from preparation to take.
What Does a Stunt Actor Do Before the Shoot?
Preparation begins weeks before the actual shooting day: choreography with the stunt coordinator, safety briefings, equipment checks, and physical preparation. As an experienced Stunt Show Actor – including for 'Babylon Berlin' (Sky), Telekom, and various commercial productions – I know: care before the camera determines safety and quality.
Safety First – Always
Every stunt, whether wire action, stage combat, or pyrotechnic effects, is rehearsed multiple times dry. Protective equipment, crash mats, safety lines, and secured zones are standard. Only those who have internalized these principles can work at this level sustainably.
What Producers Expect from a Stunt Actor
Flexibility, professionalism, and reliability. Productions need someone who not only has the physical prerequisites but also communicates quickly, can think on their feet, and knows set protocol. I'm happy to be available for stunt casting and show acts in Berlin and throughout Germany.
